My Style

『 I’m primarily an author of  “heroic grimdark” sci-fi and fantasy. It’s what I would call stories and worlds that are too sinister for dark fantasy and sci-fi, but too full of optimism for cynical grimdark. My favorite part of a story is when the protagonist is on the edge of victory and defeat, and hope fuels the hero to push on against all odds. I don’t know whether to believe they’ll make it through. That fear of losing everything, I think, should feel just as strong as the certainty of triumph.

In my free time, I conceptualize albums intended to be adapted for post-rock and metal. No, I cannot compose music yet, but I’m learning. However, my lyrics are earworms waiting to burrow into a listener’s brain. The songs I write reflect my shared worlds, making them an extension of my characters’ stories. Occasionally, I experiment with songs that aren’t related to my fiction. If you want to collaborate on a single, EP, or album, please reach out! It’d be a lot of fun.
